I have a new couple opportunities posted on our sister company site www.careeranalog.com. As a Design Center Manager you will be working with and managing a group of highly skilled engineers of various technical disciplines including digital, analog and mixed signal/RF IC design, verification, synthesis and system integration for ASIC’s, FPGA’s, and SoC’s in the wireless, networking and digital media space.
You will plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the activities and operations of the engineering team; ensure compliance with Intrinsix policies, standards and procedures for the technical work performed in the design center; assign, co-ordinate and review the technical work of the project teams to ensure delivery of complete solutions on time and within budget; assist in recruiting and overseeing development and maintenance of staff competence in required areas; and, participate directly in technical projects. Position is located in Rochester, NY. Also looking for a Principal MS/RF Engineer you will provide project management as well as hands on technical contribution. You will drive development of architectures, detailed MS/RF design, system verification, assign resources and establish project milestones. This is a very senior position and requires a solid history of successful project leadership experience with a thorough understanding of the ASIC design cycle, i.e. hands on knowledge in all phases of the ASIC process (specification through GDSII hand-off), as well as experience in writing and presenting technical proposals and project status. Location of Rochester or Boston, MA. Log In and look at the opportunities and you can apply directly.

After attending the Fabless Semiconductor Association's Awards Dinner in Silicon Valley recently, I came away with warm feeling about the prospects for the industry. The 1300 execs attending the event set a new record and the mood was ebullient. Oracle made a big splash with its hosting of excellent beverages at several ice sculpture motif bars before dinner. Kudos to Jodi Shelton and FSA for an excellent dinner menu.

The top awards went to the Most Respected Public Company, Xilinx, and to the Most Respected Private Company, Cavium Networks. The Best Financially Managed Company award went to Qualcomm CDMA Technologies. The winners of the Favorite Fabless Picks category were Silicon Storage Technology, awarded by C.E. Unterberg Towbin: Marvell Semiconductor, awarded by Lehman Brothers; and Broadcom, awarded by Morgan Stanley. Companies receiving the Outstanding Financial Performance award included public company winners Nanogen and Power Integrations: private company winners were Atheros Communications, NetLogic Microsystems, Volterra Semiconductor, Wolfson Microelectronics plc and Zeevo. The FSA Venture Capital Advisory Board selected the most promising Fabless Companies to Watch: Sierra Logic and SyChip. I stand firm in my conviction that 2004 will be a strong year for new career opportunities for analog and mixed signal professionals!
